Questionnaire for Ms. Malin Loibner for DIASPORA DREAM
Q1. What initially drew you to Yoga? Can you share a brief overview of your journey?
My journey with Yoga began at a tender age, as I mimicked my mother’s practice while learning to use my feet. Over time, Yoga became a constant companion, offering me a sanctuary of calmness, stretching, and mindful breathing. The allure lies in the holistic benefits it provides – from soothing the mind to invigorating the body. Practicing Yoga offers a profound sense of serenity and resilience, reinforcing the importance of self-care and introspection.
Q2. Could you elaborate on your specialized area in Yoga? Are you involved in teaching Yoga?
Primarily, I immerse myself in Yin Yoga, a meditative practice involving prolonged Asana holds and introspective meditations. Additionally, I advocate for the power of affirmations in fostering positive mindset and self-love. While I am currently 17 and not yet a certified Yoga instructor, I am passionate about guiding beginners through their Yoga journey. My Instagram platform serves as a conduit for sharing insights and offering support to aspiring Yogis, as I endeavor to impart the transformative potential of this ancient practice.
Q3. Do you believe Yoga should be practiced by everyone?
Absolutely. The myriad physical and mental benefits of Yoga render it accessible and advantageous for individuals of all ages and walks of life. From enhancing flexibility and strength to alleviating stress and anxiety, Yoga embodies a versatile tool for holistic well-being. Its adaptability to diverse fitness levels and environments makes it a universally beneficial practice. Therefore, I wholeheartedly endorse Yoga as a pathway to physical vitality and mental serenity for all.
Q4. How is Yoga perceived within your peer group in Austria?
In Austria, Yoga is occasionally viewed as an activity more suited to older demographics, while the youth culture tends to prioritize alternative pursuits. However, there exists a latent curiosity among young individuals towards Yoga, often hindered by societal perceptions of its “coolness.” Through my own journey on social media, I’ve witnessed a surge of interest from peers seeking beginner guidance and expressing intrigue in commencing their Yoga voyage. It’s regrettable that fear of societal judgment sometimes stifles exploration of new interests. Nonetheless, I encourage embracing authenticity and courageously venturing into uncharted territories.
Q5. Considering India’s prominent role in the Yoga domain, how do you perceive its significance?
Understanding Yoga’s roots and acknowledging India’s pivotal role in its preservation and dissemination is paramount for all practitioners. India’s leadership in propagating Yoga globally has been instrumental in raising awareness about its profound benefits and fostering innovation in its practice. However, amidst the modernization of Yoga, there exists a pressing need to uphold its traditional origins and teachings. As practitioners, we must strive to deepen our knowledge and reverence for Yoga’s heritage, ensuring its timeless wisdom endures for generations to come.
