Grievances
Where to file, who to escalate to, and how to tell us when the system is failing.
For most diaspora grievances, the Government of India already has an official channel. Use that first — it is the only path that produces a binding response on your specific case. After that, if the pattern you are seeing is part of something wider, tell the newsroom. We follow up editorially when patterns emerge.
Official Government of India channels
For individual cases, file directly through these. They are the only channels that can issue a binding response on your specific situation.

Tell the newsroom what is failing
Once you have filed officially, we want to know — particularly if you are not alone. When fifty readers across four countries tell us the same OCI portal is returning the same error code, that is a story. When the same consulate in the same month produces the same delay, that is a story. When a process designed for ten thousand applicants is failing one hundred thousand, that is a story. Patterns are the territory of journalism.
Please note: sharing a grievance with us is not a substitute for filing it with the official channels above. We have no relationship with the Government of India that lets us submit on your behalf. We use what readers send us to do journalism — nothing more, nothing less.
